Chris Parisi has been making passes down the local Florida dragstrips since the early 1990’s. His first passes were in a 1984 Mustang GT that he shared with his dad Joe.
Between 1990 and 2001 he mainly stayed local and only raced events in Florida and Georgia, staying close to his current hometown of Jacksonville, FL. Then he saw the advertisements for the 2002 Fun Ford Weekend series and that they were giving away cars to the champions in a few of the classes – including a new one for Focus drivers. Chris quickly devised a plan to convince his grandmother to let him take her leased Focus out on the road and race it. It took several detailing sessions and a bunch of promises that he would be safe to convince her, and she finally said yes. It was a blast racing her 2000 Focus all around the nation and he won the Norwalk FFW event that season finishing 4th in points! From that year forward, Chris was hooked on travel racing. His dad started traveling with him and over the years we’ve made lifelong friends across the east coast and Midwest. They won the 2007 FFW series Championships together in their respective classes, dad in Mod Comp and Chris in Ultra-Stang, which was an awesome year!!
“Over the years I’ve been lucky enough to win 7 Championships, a Most Feared Sportsman Driver in Gainesville 2000, a Money-Man (most cashes in a season at Jax Raceways in 2003) and was voted the NMRA’s 2016 Driver of Year for all racers combined.” says Chris.
In 2011 he finished 2nd in the NMRA SST points and didn’t have the finances to travel race for a few seasons in 2012-2015. He did have a few local season points runner-up finishes in the Gainesville Raceway’s Sportsman and Open Comp classes. Then with the help from sponsors, family and friends, Chris started racing the NMRA series again in 2016 and finished #2 in the new Ford Muscle Class, then him and his wife Sarah purchased a 2016 3.7 Guard Green Mustang and was #2 in the NMRA Super Stang class in 2017.
