Most recently, the Rose Racing Team loaded up and headed 600 miles west to Denver, CO for the first (of six) NHRA Lucas Oil Division 5 Series event! Denver offers the Rose Racing Team a unique opportunity for tuning race cars that typically run at a “corrected” altitude of 1500’. Since there is less oxygen available, the cars run slower. Matt’s Super Comp dragster typically runs on a 8.90 second index.
At Denver, his index is adjusted to 9.50! Subsequently, Chuck’s Stock Eliminator ’72 Duster index is adjusted from 11.85 to 12.60 seconds. Regardless of the challenging environment, it’s a favorite stop nonetheless for the team, as Bandimere Speedway happens to be one of the most beautiful dragstrips in the country. It’s built into the side of the mountain just off C-470 in Morrison, Colorado, where the other side of the mountain is the infamous Red Rocks Ampitheather.
Be sure to catch the Rose Racing Team at one of these events in 2019!
