Mike Bagley: Racing At Top Speed!

Kimmy’s Garage would like to feature Mike Bagley on today’s blog!

Mike Bagley began his powerful racing career in the early 1980’s. Through the years, his prized possessions included a ’67 GTO, ’68 Camaro, ’68 Chevelle and a 1969 Alston Chassis Camaro. With each car, Mike has taken it to the next level. Specifically, his ’69 Camaro achieved a track championship @ Bunker Hill Drag strip in the Super Pro Class and an even bigger win for the Championship at the 1992 NHRA Division 3 Super Pro Championship at Indianapolis Raceway Park. Later in the 90’s, he purchased a record holding A/ED rolling dragster, in which Mike set a Blown BBC 502 cubic inch engine for a power plant which ran in the low to mid 4 seconds in the 1/8 mile.

Mike and his team began running the Jegs Super Quick Series in 2000 and have been running the series ever since. They have raced in a few NHRA Division 3 Top Dragster events and have achieved great success with it! Running the Jegs Super Quick series brought the team incredible results over the last 17 years — with multiple Super Quick Shootout Titles and Jegs Super Quick wins, as well as multiple Top Ten finishes through out the years.

In December of 2017, Mike decided to sell his Dragster and purchased a ’63 Split Window Corvette, which at the time was only a chassis and body. Over the following six months, the chassis, interior, and body were professionally completed and then it was onto the paint shop for a top notch House of Color Cobalt Blue finish.

Mike received the car back less motor & transmission. Mike’s Crew Chief, Todd Hill, assisted with the installation of the final components of the Vette, which also included Aerospace Components Lightweight Powerglide Shifter & Shifter Cable Bell Crank, both of which are top of the line products!

“The installation of the Aerospace Components products were easy to follow with great detailed instructions!”, Mike shared.

For 2019, Mike will be using Aerospace Components’ Crank Trigger to assist the MSD grid being installed. The Vette has shown consistency in the short period of time they’ve been running it and — with the superior parts from Aerospace Components — Mike and his team look forward to a successful 2019 full season running in the Top Sportsman & Jegs Super Quick & Quick 8 series!
