Kimmy’s Garage would like to feature Matt Rose and the Rose Racing team on today’s blog!

Rose Racing’s Favorite Products:

  • S/Street Cuda uses Aerospace  big block Chrysler vacuum pump kit , rear drag race brake kit and Aerospace brake pads on front and rear brakes.  AC-DR97 and AC-HPPL
  • F/Stock Duster uses Aerospace drag race brake kits on front and rear
  • S/Comp dragster uses Aerospace brake pads on rear and Big block Chrysler vacuum pump kit.

We also carry a spare shorty tailshaft roller bearing AC-215.

Most recently, the Rose Racing Team loaded up and headed 600 miles west to Denver, CO for the first (of six) NHRA Lucas Oil Division 5 Series event! Denver offers the Rose Racing Team a unique opportunity for tuning race cars that typically run at a “corrected” altitude of 1500’. Since there is less oxygen available, the cars run slower. Matt’s Super Comp dragster typically runs on a 8.90 second index.

At Denver, his index is adjusted to 9.50! Subsequently, Chuck’s Stock Eliminator ’72 Duster index is adjusted from 11.85 to 12.60 seconds. Regardless of the challenging environment, it’s a favorite stop nonetheless for the team, as Bandimere Speedway happens to be one of the most beautiful dragstrips in the country. It’s built into the side of the mountain just off C-470 in Morrison, Colorado, where the other side of the mountain is the infamous Red Rocks Ampitheather.

Like Father, Like Son: Ciborowski Power!

Kimmy’s Garage would like to feature Michael and Keith Ciborowski on today’s blog!

IMG_1262

Racing has been in Keith’s blood from an early age, when his father Michael would bring him to all kinds of races growing up. “Dad brought me all over the place racing as a kid and after a few bolt on upgrades I got the itch bad. That snowballed into what it is now. A 7 second turbo coyote ’03 cobra” Keith states.

Keith has a 2003 Mustang Cobra, bought in 2013. “I always loved the dark shadow grey ’03 Cobras, so when the time was right I bought one. It took me about 3 years to build it, with the help of dad” says Keith. This past year was the first year they’ve had it done. Keith went a best of 7.57 @187mph this year in street trim. Finished runner up at NMRA Bowling Green in the Turbo Coyote Shootout and made it to the Semi-Finals in the King of the 4V class at ModNationals!

Keith talks more about the products he uses, “I have Aerospace brakes on all 4 corners of this car and I love them. I originally bought the front kit for the ’94-04 cars, but later decided to switch to a foxbody setup to utilize the Aerospace hubs. When I switched to the foxbody front spindles, I used Racecraft drop spindles and was in need of them to be drilled and tapped and caliper brackets made for them. I shipped the spindles to you guys and within a week received them back with caliper brackets and all the hardware I needed to bolt them right on, customer service has been A+ for me!”

The original front Aerospace brakes Keith purchased for the car wound up on a project car of him and his Dad’s. An 83’ Mercury Capri that they coyote swapped with the stock motor out of his 2014 GT. The Capri utilizes Aerospace components brakes on all four corners as well.

Michael’s car is a 2014 GT which he purchased off Craigslist in 2014 from a guy who won the car in a raffle! The car had 400 miles when he brought it home. Slowly his car transformed into a track car, with his goals being set on the new NMRA Limited Street category. In the winter of 2017/2018 they swapped out the stock motor for an RGR built longblock and a variety of go-fast goodies in order to compete in Limited Street. His car also had Aerospace Components brakes on all 4 corners.

Their goal for the 2018 season was to finish in the top 10 in points. After struggling with new setup bugs the first 3 races and dropping the motor back into the car at 11:00pm, the Monday night before Ohio, they found ourselves in the #1 qualifier spot and ultimately in the winners circle at the Ohio event. Joliet saw them qualify 2nd and finish runner up!

“Coming into Bowling Green, we had no idea we could steal the championship, however working our way through eliminations, we came out of Bowling Green with the event win and the 2018 NMRA Limited Street World Champion. 2018 was extremely good to us, all the hard work, time and energy paid off in a big way. And it couldn’t have been done without the support of Aerospace and everyone that has had a hand in both our racing programs” says Keith and Michael,

We look forward now to the 2019 racing season. The first NMRA race is February 28th – March 3rd at Bradenton Motorsports Park,Florida. We’re hoping to grab our win there and celebrate in the Aerospace Components winner’s circle once again!

Mike Bagley: Racing At Top Speed!

Kimmy’s Garage would like to feature Mike Bagley on today’s blog!

Mike Bagley began his powerful racing career in the early 1980’s. Through the years, his prized possessions included a ’67 GTO, ’68 Camaro, ’68 Chevelle and a 1969 Alston Chassis Camaro. With each car, Mike has taken it to the next level. Specifically, his ’69 Camaro achieved a track championship @ Bunker Hill Drag strip in the Super Pro Class and an even bigger win for the Championship at the 1992 NHRA Division 3 Super Pro Championship at Indianapolis Raceway Park. Later in the 90’s, he purchased a record holding A/ED rolling dragster, in which Mike set a Blown BBC 502 cubic inch engine for a power plant which ran in the low to mid 4 seconds in the 1/8 mile.

Mike and his team began running the Jegs Super Quick Series in 2000 and have been running the series ever since. They have raced in a few NHRA Division 3 Top Dragster events and have achieved great success with it! Running the Jegs Super Quick series brought the team incredible results over the last 17 years — with multiple Super Quick Shootout Titles and Jegs Super Quick wins, as well as multiple Top Ten finishes through out the years.

In December of 2017, Mike decided to sell his Dragster and purchased a ’63 Split Window Corvette, which at the time was only a chassis and body. Over the following six months, the chassis, interior, and body were professionally completed and then it was onto the paint shop for a top notch House of Color Cobalt Blue finish.

Mike received the car back less motor & transmission. Mike’s Crew Chief, Todd Hill, assisted with the installation of the final components of the Vette, which also included Aerospace Components Lightweight Powerglide Shifter & Shifter Cable Bell Crank, both of which are top of the line products!

“The installation of the Aerospace Components products were easy to follow with great detailed instructions!”, Mike shared.

For 2019, Mike will be using Aerospace Components’ Crank Trigger to assist the MSD grid being installed. The Vette has shown consistency in the short period of time they’ve been running it and — with the superior parts from Aerospace Components — Mike and his team look forward to a successful 2019 full season running in the Top Sportsman & Jegs Super Quick & Quick 8 series!

Mike would like to thank all who support Bagley & Hill Motorsports: including Aerospace Components, Executive Airport Limo Service and special shout out to Mike’s crew chief “Todd Hill” and Mindy Sikora, who keeps the team running at top speed!

Bryan Norman: Racing Into 2019!

Kimmy’s Garage would like to feature Bryan Norman on today’s blog!

Even with the summertime, inclement weather, Bryan Norman continued to pursue yet another fantastic start to his racing season.

Bryan’s first race was in late April at his local track, Capital Raceway in Maryland. He took his Mustang out, which was also it’s first time on the track since installing Aerospace Component’s vacuum pump. “The pump works great and is making the most vacuum it ever has!”, mentioned Bryan.

Bryan entered his Mustang in the Top Bulb and Bottom Bulb categories that day and ultimately won the Bottom Bulb. In the same weekend, he made it to the quarter finals in the Top Bulb, so overall it was a successful first weekend of racing.

After Bryan stopped over at Galot Motorsports Park for the K&N Spring Fling, the inclement weather made it’s way back to the northeast, which gave him a chance to analyze his dragster; including an update to the ignition with the new MSD Grid.

He then headed back to his local track to test out the new updates on his car. A .003 red light in the semi finals brought his day to a close, but that didn’t dampen Bryan’s spirit.

More recently, Bryan took to the track with his first pass at 135 mph at 5.09. After tweaking his Mustang after the first pass, the car cranked it up a notch to 141 mph at 4.91. He further implemented a converter change, which landed him at 141.5 mph at 4.88. Bryan decided to wrap up the weekend with a nice standing in the quarter finals.

Winners Circle

The latest update for Bryan’s Mustang includes changing the 3.90 ring / pinion for a 4.30, ultimately helping with his RPM range and landing him in his 4.70’s goal. Bryan is eager to take it out for another local race as well as The Triple Crown at Maryland International Raceway!

Best of luck to you, Bryan!
